IT infrastructure site preparation is key to a smooth virtualization implementation. The goal of this phase is to configure the ideal hardware environment for the target virtualization solution. In many cases, our customers can re-purpose existing hardware to be part of the target environment. Site preparation will also include purchasing, receiving and configuring new hardware including Servers, and SAN Storage.
Site preparation usually includes the following steps:
* - Simply stated, a LUN is a logical entity that converts raw physical disk space into logical storage that a host server's operating system can access and use. Configuring the SAN and creating LUNs is a key enabler for virtualization and "boot from network" capabilities.
